French brand Bourjois has a number of duty-free kits, most popular on board airlines but also available at airport stores. This one, the Bourjois 3 Lipgloss Effet 3D set, is a trio of full-size lip glosses that, as the name suggests, create an effect of fuller lips when applied.
The set features three shades: Transparent Oniric (18), an invisible top coat; Rose Symphonie (20), a frosty pale pink with silver sparkles; and Rose Lyric (36), a deeper rosy shade also with fewer visible sparkles than the previous colour.
All feature a brush-style applicator and the sparkles aren’t gritty, which is a bonus.
I’m afraid I don’t know how much this set retails for as I got mine as a gift. These usually carry a saving of at least 15% compared with high-street prices though, so it should be a good deal if you like all colours.
The first set of swatches was photographed in indirect sunlight and the second, in direct sunlight. Click on any of the images for a larger version.
I’m sure I am not the only one who finds it annoying that excellent brands such as Kanebo’s Lunasol aren’t more widely available outside of Asia. Unfortunately, the same tends to happen in duty-free, and this set is not an exception.
I spotted the Lunasol Full Glamour Gloss Set at one of Tokyo Narita airport’s many stores (specifically the ANA Duty Free shop). Exclusive to travel-retail, the kit comes with three lip glosses in the Full Glamour formula – which contain multi-colour shimmer to give depth of shade and feature a slanted applicator to apply the gloss evenly to lips.
I tried to get swatches of the three shades, but unfortunately the sales assistant was hovering over me like a hawk and made me self-conscious (I know, not the best trait for a blogger – I promise to do better next time!). Instead, I’ll leave you with pictures of the products as the shades are pretty true to life (the tubes are transparent, after all).
The set was on sale at Narita for 4,500 yen (about $58). Click on the image above for a larger version.
The latest travel-exclusive palette from Lancôme is dedicated to lip products. The Lancôme L’Absolu Lips palette is packaged in the brand’s ultra-thin black lacquered case for travel products and comes with five lipstick shades from the L’Absolu Rouge collection ranging from deep red to beige and an ultra-shiny gloss.
Here is the full list of colours available in the palette, in order from left to right:
- From New York with love – Rouge Caprice (#132)
- From Paris with love – Rouge Rayonnant (#47)
- From São Paulo with love – Rose Rhapsodie (#354)
- From Bali with love – Beige mirage (#250)
- From Melbourne with love – Rose Nature (#11)
- From the French Riviera with love – Lipgloss
Again, the supplier did not say how much this would cost in duty-free shops, but I estimate the price to be around $50 or €38. I’ll update this post if I have a confirmed amount.
