Lancôme Sweet Butterfly palette

with 2 comments

Lancôme Sweet Butterfly paletteIf you, like me, are a sucker for anything pretty, you will also fall in love with this beauty. The Lancôme Sweet Butterfly palette is a travel-retail exclusive and boy is it cute! Cool-toned in general, it comes with three eyeshadows: one in the Color Focus formula, 501 (a sparkly steel shade), and two in the Ombre Absolue formula, A40 Electric Dream (a satiny purple) and F20 Delice de Creme (a shimmery creamy champagne shade).

More importantly, the palette also comes with a gorgeous blush called La Rose Butterfly, described in the packaging as an instant radiance mineral compact powder – it’s a pink base with slight peachy undertones and a silver sparkle overspray, while the bow is a darker shade of pink, the rose is a lilac colour and the small butterflies are purple. The overspray comes off quite easily, so after a couple of uses the whole thing will reverse to the base colour.

The palette also comes with three applicators (two sponge-type ones for the eyeshadows and a brush for the powder) in two compartments, and the ultra-compact case is decorated with golden butterflies. As usual with Lancôme products, the palette comes in a velvet pouch featuring the brand’s signature rose.

The first swatch piture features the eyeshadows, and the second, the powder. I swatched the blush colours separately for reference – the first represents the base shade with overspray, the second is one of the butterflies, the third is the bow and the last, the rose. Click on the images for larger versions.

Lancôme Sweet Butterfly retails at Heathrow airport for £31.20 (about $50) – it may be cheaper at other locations.

Lancôme Glamour to Go palette

without comments

Lancôme Glamour to Go paletteLancôme Glamour to Go palette This is an old favourite of mine and I am not 100% sure you can still find it at airports and other travel locations, but if you trawl the web you can probably find online sellers. The Lancôme Glamour to Go palette was launched a couple of years ago and, different from most of the brand’s palettes, comes in a white leather-look case with an embossed Lancôme rose instead of the usual lacquered black outers (as you can see from the picture, mine is a bit battered from travelling with me).

It also features a removable cherub charm (which I quite like so it remains attached to my palette).

The Glamour to Go palette comes with the following products:

  • Blush Subtil 20 (Pêche Fever), a gorgeous peachy shade with subtle gold sparkles.
  • Color Fever Shine 208 (Tasty Beige), a great neutral lip colour (it’s a sheer lipstick formula, almost like a gloss).
  • Color Fever Shine 300 (Pink Drip), a nice bright pink shade with cold shimmer (and a great complement for the blush).
  • Four Color Design eyeshadows: 416 (L.A. Berry), a plummy rose; 603 (Pink Strass), a dusty pink with very fine silver shimmer; 605 (Strass Amethyst), a gorgeous purple with silver sparkle; and 607 (Brilliant Parma), a shimmery lilac shade.

The palette also comes with three applicators in separate compartments: a lip brush, a double-ended eyeshadow applicator and a blush brush.

Click on the swatches below for larger images. The first features the eyeshadows (from left to right: 605, 607, 416 and 603) and the second has the lip colours and blush (300, 208 and 20), as described above.

Back in the day, this palette was priced at around £40 ($62), but I’m sure you can find it for less than that nowadays. :)

Lancôme L’Absolu Lips palette

without comments

The latest travel-exclusive palette from Lancôme is dedicated to lip products. The Lancôme L’Absolu Lips palette is packaged in the brand’s ultra-thin black lacquered case for travel products and comes with five lipstick shades from the L’Absolu Rouge collection ranging from deep red to beige and an ultra-shiny gloss.

Here is the full list of colours available in the palette, in order from left to right:

  • From New York with love – Rouge Caprice (#132)
  • From Paris with love – Rouge Rayonnant (#47)
  • From São Paulo with love – Rose Rhapsodie (#354)
  • From Bali with love – Beige mirage (#250)
  • From Melbourne with love – Rose Nature (#11)
  • From the French Riviera with love – Lipgloss

Again, the supplier did not say how much this would cost in duty-free shops, but I estimate the price to be around $50 or €38. I’ll update this post if I have a confirmed amount.

Lancôme L’Absolu Crème de Brillance Trio

without comments

This is not a brand new product launch, but as it is still available and offers good value for money I thought I’d share! The Lancôme L’Absolu Crème de Brillance Trio is a set containing three lip gloss shades in the L’Absolu Crème de Brillance formula:Rose Nu (06), Orange Toffee (165) and Rose Grenat (395).

The lip glosses are slightly pearlescent and come with a bent doe-foot applicator. The formula, according to Lancôme, contains 50% active ingredients and Pro-Xylane to keep lips soft, hydrated and re-plumped.

This trio retails on board Singapore Airlines flights for about $70. As each of these sell for $29 in the US, you’ll be saving at least $17  – not too shabby!

Lancôme Absolu Voyage Rose Edition palette

without comments

Always at the forefront of duty-free exclusives, Lancôme has launched yet another travel palette that is only available at airport stores and on board some airlines. The Lancôme Absolu Voyage Rose Edition palette has the same sleek, black case of similar products from the brand, but this time it features a pink rose design on the front.

The limited-edition set contains a concealer, powder compact, six eyeshadows (Ombre Absolue A10, A20 and G01; Purple Ombre Absolue Quad A10; Color Design 501; and Grey Shade Lotus Splender), a blusher shade (don’t know which but I will find out), black eyeliner pencil, a mini-mascara (Virtuôse), three lip colours (Color Fever Shine 306, 312 and L’Absolu Rouge 354) and a mini-lip pencil.

The palette also features an extra-large mirror, a lip brush, an eyeshadow brush, a powder brush and a powder puff. It will be available until stocks last and is already on sale. I don’t know the price but will be travelling in the next couple of days, so will investigate! Update: This palette costs £43.05 (roughly $68) at London Heathrow airport.

Lancôme Voyage d’un Soir palette

with one comment

Happy 2011, readers! After a long holiday break I am back with a new travel-exclusive release from Lancôme for your delight.

The Lancôme Voyage d’un Soir palette is a day-to-night set available exclusively at duty-free outlets worldwide. It contains four eyeshadow shades (Sortilege d’Amour, Color Design in Silver Shines, Ombre Absolue in Round Midnight and Ombre Absolue in Pink), Blush Subtil in Rose Sable and two lip colours (Gloss Fever Shine in Prune Flush and Gloss Tendre Voyage in Pink), as well as the relevant brushes and applicators.

The limited-edition palette is inspired by the city of Paris and has a stylised Eiffel Tower on the front of the case, as well as representations of city lights and stars. According to the supplier, the products it contains are enough for Voyage d’un Soir owners to create at least three different looks. Oh, and it retails for less around $45 – a bargain considering everything it includes!

Lancôme Travel Chic palette

with 2 comments

Lancôme Travel Chic paletteFrench beauty company Lancôme has gone all out for the 2010 holiday season with a sparkly, sequined travel-exclusive palette. The Lancôme Travel Chic palette is, as the name implies, a chic little number containing six eyeshadow shades (a white highlight shade, a dark and glittery black and four colours to mix and match), one blush, two lip colours, mascara and powder, as well as several applicators.

The most interesting thing about this palette, however, is not what it contains but the packaging: removing the makeup tray within reveals a glamourous pouch that can be used as an accessory/small handbag on a night out in the town. Is this clever or what?

So far I’ve only seen this baby on board Korean Air’s inflight duty-free catalogue, where it retails for $59. I’ll update this post as more sightings are confirmed!

Lancôme travel palettes

Ah, deadlines… thanks to them I have been unable to post here as often as I’d like. It’s unlikely that the situation will change in the next few days, so bear with me a little longer please – I promise I have good things to share with you as soon as I can!

Today I’m doing something slightly different and showing you Lancôme’s collection of travel-exclusive palettes. These aren’t all of them, and I’ve already blogged about the Eyes Virtuôse palette before, but these are all the multi-product sets the brand offers. This photo was taken at Belfast City airport – the prices obviously don’t apply to all locations.

Magic Voyage is the smallest of the four you see in the picture above, but it includes six beautiful eyeshadow shades and three lip colours. I have this one and will do a post just for it with swatches in the near future. As usual, it also includes the relevant applicators (one each for eyes and lips).

Tendre Voyage is less compact and comes with four eyeshadows in neutral colours, one blusher and two lipsticks, as well as applicators. Absolute Séduction, described as a “complete” makeup palette, has eyeshadows, lip colours, lipliner, mascara, eyeliner, blusher and face powder, plus applicators. Finally, Absolu Voyage has all of the above in addition to concealer, and the applicators includes some nifty-looking travel-sized brushes.

If you like all-in-one palettes, these are definitely worth a closer look as they combine practicality with good-quality products.

Lancôme Eyes Virtuôse palette

without comments

Lancôme has always been one of my favourite brands, and it also happens to be one of the most active global beauty brands when it comes to launching products that are exclusive to duty-free shops. The latest launch is the Lancôme Eyes Virtuôse eyeshadow palette, which has been inspired by global travellers and features six shades in an ultra-thin case for increased portability.

The pigmentation of the eyeshadows is good but most of them are on the frosty side, so if you are not a fan of shiny, glittery colours, this palette might not be for you. The six shades are also fairly cool, so very warm ladies could have problems making it work. It’s a good day-to-night palette, though, and has the added bonus of including a panoramic mirror – the largest I’ve ever seen in any such product.

Eyes Virtuôse is currently available in travel-retail and has a recommended retail price (in Europe at least) of €37 (about $45 in today’s exchange rates). Click on the images below for larger versions – these were taken with artificial light.

Lancôme Roses de Bonheur palette

without comments

Lancome Roses de Bonheur paletteNot to be confused with the brand’s eyeshadow quad of the same name, the Lancôme Roses de Bonheur palette is exclusive to Korean Air and features three eyeshadows – one creamy shade, one pink and a grey-silver – as well as a rosy blush and two lip shades, most likely glosses as these are more popular with Asian women. It also comes with an eyeshadow applicator and a lip brush.

The palette retails for $38 and is on sale now. I won’t be flying with the Korean airline anytime soon, so if anyone out there has tried it let us know what you think!
