Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Bouquet Numéro 2

with 2 comments

Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Bouquet Numéro 2Back in 2010, Guerlain launched its first fragrance in the Aqua Allegoria franchise exclusive to duty-free shops. Last year, the supplier expanded its travel-retail range with the launch of Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Bouquet Numéro 2, inspired by “exotic tropical gardens” and featuring notes of lychee, rose and powdery iris.

The company’s statement about the fragrance says:

Inspired by nature, created by Guerlain. Nature is an emotionally-charged setting where we gather treasures, which inspires and enfolds us. Every year, when springtime comes, the Guerlain perfumer conjures up gardens filled with scents, in a blend of allegory and exhilaration.

Prices for this edt, which comes in a 75ml bottle, vary according to location – the duty-free shops at Kiev airport sell it for €40 ($51), a similar price to the one charged on board Singapore Airlines flights (S$67, or just over $51).

Guerlain Météorites Travelling Pearls

without comments

Guerlain is obviously a popular brand in the Far East, as the amount of products the brand launches that are exclusive to Asia indicates. One of the latest offerings is this Guerlain Météorites Travelling Pearls, a special set containing two miniature (0.3oz/8.5g each) vials of Météorites in different shadesthe reformulated Teint Rosé (01) highlighter and a new and exclusive Blush (00) that is only available in travel-retail.

The twist with this version is that it comes with an integrated magnetic brush, which sits nicely on top of the pearls when not in use and doesn’t rattle around your travel bag. The mini-transparent vials are also very cute, and as with Météorites a little goes a long way, these should last a fair amount of time.

Singapore Airlines sells these beauties for S$89 (roughly $69 in today’s exchange rate), while China Southern Airlines has it on board for a little bit more: 465 yuan, or about $72. As prices are set against their respective domestic markets, Hong Kong-based airlines and airport shops might offer the best deal on this one.

Guerlain Rouge Automatique Trio

with 2 comments

Guerlain Rouge Automatique TrioI am personally a big fan of Guerlain lipsticks (the Rouge G formula is one of my favourites), and the Rouge Automatique range – first introduced last year – has been a big hit in the beauty world.

In duty-free, Guerlain has launched a set with three popular colours, the Guerlain Rouge Automatique Trio. This collection of lipsticks includes Chamade (164), Champs-Elysées (165) and Coque D’Or (120), packaged in a cutely-designed box. Other brands like Estée Lauder feature individually-packaged products within its travel-retail outer box, but as I didn’t buy this set (I only took pictures while at the airport), I can’t say if this holds true for this latest Guerlain set.

I didn’t include swatches of the three lipsticks in this trio either as those are widely available on other websites and the lighting within the shop wasn’t great – sorry about that!

The price of this set at World Duty Free stores is £57 ($88), a considerable saving as the recommended retail price for each Rouge Automatique lipstick on the high street is £24.50 ($38). If you like all three colours, the trio is a bargain.

As usual, click on the images for a closer look.

Duty-free bargain: Guerlain Fall palettes

with 2 comments

First of all, let me apologise for disappearing – I’ve been jetting around the world for work and am currently in Estonia’s capital Tallinn, which seems to be a lovely place from the little I’ve seen of it!

Today’s post is a heads-up to all you Guerlain fans out there. As you probably know already, the French brand has the most gorgeous eye palettes out at the moment as part of its Fall collection (the lovely Karla has swatched them all here, in case you’ve missed them). Each includes five coordinated eyeshadow colours and one liner shade, and the packaging – as usual – is to die for.

The only downside of these palettes is that they cost a whopping $84 each in the US and a not-too-shabby £51 in the UK (Guerlain is always cheaper in England for some bizarre reason). However, I have spotted the coveted Fall palettes at London Heathrow airport for a little over £44 each (about $66), a true bargain! Also, for those in the UK, Debenhams seems to be selling them at a discounted price online (£45.90 each), almost as good as the Heathrow prices – a good option if you’re not travelling soon.

Guerlain La Selection Couleurs Makeup Palette Eye-Lips

with one comment

Another day, another Guerlain duty-free exclusive, and this one is a particular favourite of mine. Guerlain La Selection Couleurs Makeup Palette Eye-Lips features a typical jewellery box-style case with five eyeshadow sahes, four lipsticks, two applicators and a “suedette” – which I assume is the pouch that protects the palette.

I won’t say much else about this one, allowing the picture below do the talking. :)

Guerlain Météorites Miniatures Collection Asian Seasons

with 2 comments

Guerlain Meteorites Miniatures Collection Asian SeasonsGuerlain has done it again, launching an Asia-exclusive trio of its cult highlighting product in to-die-for packaging. Guerlain Météorites Miniatures Collection Asian Seasons is a limited edition and, as the name implies, is only available at duty-free outlets in Asia or on board Asian airlines. It retails for about $70, but the price will vary according to local exchange rates – it’s not bad value if you’re a fan of the product or a sucker for pretty packaging like me. :)

The official description of the product says:

Guerlain’s Météorites pearls have been the mythic finishing powder since 1987, illuminating the complexion with an incomparable radiance, thanks to its fine and transparent texture. These three Météorites Miniatures Collection limited editions come in a new, collectible design and are individually packed in a set.

It’s a shame I don’t have any trips to Asia planned in the near future, or else this baby would certainly be on my shopping list.

Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Bouquet Numéro 1

without comments

Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Bouquet Numéro 1The Aqua Allegoria range of fragrances is a Guerlain classic, introduced in 1999 as a tribute to nature. Now, for the first time, the French house has launched a scent in this collection exclusively in duty-free.

Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Bouquet Numéro 1 eau de toilette is described by the company as “an ode to spring” and incorporates notes of freshly-cut grass, bergamot, jasmine, rose, preach and white musks. The name refers to Guerlain’s perfume-making tradition of almost two centuries and is a tribute to the founder of the house, Pierre-François-Pascal Guerlain, and his heir Jacques.

The bottle features the traditional motif of 69 bees that has been part of Guerlain’s history since 1853, but is now adorned with a golden label. Meanwhile, the new-look packaging features a honeycomb relief and a pink bee at the front.

Bouquet Número 1 was launched today in travel-retail. No details on pricing are available.

Guerlain Météorites Couture

with 2 comments

Guerlain Meteorites Couture
Guerlain has launched a new version of its best-selling Météorites Voyage compact exclusively in duty-free, this time with added concealers. This is the full product description for Guerlain Météorites Couture:

Météorites powder for the face by Guerlain is the mythic finishing powder created in 1987. Presented in a new makeup palette, Météorites Couture is the ultimate secret for perfect light and correction. The set contains four concealers, a specific harmony of Météorites Voyage powder, a couture pouch and a powder brush.

I believe this will be one for Météorites collectors or frequent travellers as the handy packaging seems to make more sense than the cardboard boxes in which the popular “balls” come in. I haven’t seen this one in-store yet but will try and report back when I do! Météorites Couture retails on board Singapore Airlines for S$117 (about $84).
