While travelling in the US I spotted some Chanel travel-retail sets that I hadn’t seen before – certainly not in Europe, at least. The display included several products, but I’ll start with the most topical, the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Trio.

This nifty set comes with one each of the new Chanel lipstick formula in Liberté (46), Boy (54 and one of the most popular shades) and Adventure (57).

According to the supplier, this hydrating lip formula creates “amazing natural shine” on your lips, although I have read reviews complaining about their staying power. I haven’t tried them myself, so can’t comment on that.

At San Francisco International airport, where I saw these, the sets retail for $87 – possibly not such a good deal for Americans but certainly a decent saving for British and other European travellers. Rouge Coco Shines sell for £22.50 (roughly $36) each in the UK, so you could save around $20 by purchasing the set instead of three individual shades!
