L’Oréal Paris Color Harmony Glamour Chic palette

with 2 comments

L’Oréal Paris has two fairly recent travel-exclusive palettes out at the moment, each represented by one of the brand’s actress spokesmodels. The one I bought  – Color Harmony Glamour Chic palette – is the one featuring Freida Pinto (the other has Eva Longoria) as is the slightly warmer version (or so it seemed to me). It contains five eyeshadow shades (Color Appeal formula), four Color Riche lipsticks and a duo True Match blush. It also comes with three applicators, one for each type of product.

None of the shades have names, so I’ll try to describe them as best as I can. The eyeshadows are a matte moss green, a light chocolate brown with discreet shimmer, a metallic gold shade, a light pink with a hint of lavender and a pale yellow (both with a bit of shimmer). None of them are very finely milled or superpigmented, but they all swatched evenly and offer a good range of combinations. They come in 1.3g pans.

The duo blush has a peachy side and a neutral beige side. I didn’t swatch them together as I only thought of doing that after the light had gone – doh! Finally, the lipsticks include a brownish-coppery shade, a berry colour with rosy undertones, a fairly neutral pink and a beige shade. The blush pan weighs 5.5g and the lipsticks have 1g of product each.

I wasn’t too impressed by the quality of this palette, to be perfectly honest – it’s ok but certainly doesn’t have that ‘wow’ factor. And while it is not badly priced (at Heathrow, it retails for about £25, while in Europe you can find it for about €30) it is not cheap for a drugstore palette either. I do like the build and sturdiness of the palette, and the large mirror is always a bonus. Overall, a decent but not amazing product in my opinion.

The shades were swatched in the order they appear in the palette (which is also the order in which I described them). Click on the images for larger versions.

  1. Got this palette as well. It’s so annoying that they didn’t write the names of the shades on the box. Arg!

  2. I know, it is annoying when companies do that. :P
